Granular ammonium sulfate is standard ammonium sulfate processed into a coarser granular form. The larger and more uniform particles can improve handling and mechanical spreading, and suit feeding into NPK granulation plants. For bulk blending, segregation can be minimised when particle size, density and other physical properties are well matched with the other blend components. Granular material is compacted from a mix of caprolactam-origin and other by-product ammonium sulfate, which is why the guaranteed nitrogen content is 20.5% minimum — material consistently above 21% indicates a granular product made solely from caprolactam crystal. Buyers who specify granular ammonium sulfate from China are usually balancing two things: particle size distribution and the consistency of the grade over repeated shipments.

Why buyers specify granular ammonium sulfate
Formulated for stable blends
When a component's particle size is not matched to the rest of a blend, the blend can separate during handling. Segregation can be minimised when particle size, density and other physical properties are well matched with the other blend components — which is why blenders specify granular ammonium sulfate.
Mechanical application
The coarse, free-flowing granules are suited to spreader equipment and to handling systems where dust and caking in fine crystalline material cause operational problems.
Feedstock for granulation plants
Compound fertilizer producers use granular ammonium sulfate as a nitrogen and sulfur carrier in their own granulation lines.
Same nominal chemistry, different physical form
The nominal chemistry is the same as crystalline ammonium sulfate, while actual nutrient analysis, particle-size distribution, moisture and other physical parameters depend on the production source and the lot. The applicable specification is confirmed against the TDS and COA before shipment.
Three commercial grades to match the market
Granular ammonium sulfate is offered in three grades depending on the source and the market being served — Premium White for high-quality agricultural markets, Standard for bulk international trade, and Economic Grade for price-sensitive markets. Grade, colour and impurity requirements are confirmed with you before order, and are particularly important for the Economic Grade.

Packaging options
- 25 kg bags. Standard small bags for distributors and retail-facing supply. Bag material, printing and palletisation are agreed per order.
- 50 kg bags. Larger bags for agricultural distribution and handling systems that work at 50 kg unit weights.
- Jumbo bags (FIBC). Typically used for industrial buyers and for container or bulk programmes where large unit weights reduce handling cost.
- Bulk (in vessel). Loose cargo for bulk vessel shipment, subject to vessel availability, loading port facilities and discharge requirements at destination.
Container & bulk shipment
Bagged material ships in containers from Qingdao or Tianjin. Large programmes can be arranged as bulk vessel cargo where the destination can discharge loose material. We quote FOB, CFR or CIF — tell us the trade term you want to work on and your destination port.
Loading quantity: Loading quantity depends on packaging, container type and shipping requirements.

Documents are issued on a per-shipment basis. The certificate of analysis is the manufacturer's own document for the production lot actually shipped — not a document prepared by the trading company.

What is the difference between granular and crystalline ammonium sulfate?

Is granular ammonium sulfate suitable for bulk blending?
Yes — that is one of its main uses. For a blend to stay stable, the ammonium sulfate granules need to match the size of the other components, so the size range is agreed before order.
What grades of granular ammonium sulfate are available?
Three commercial grades are available. Premium White Granular is sourced from large caprolactam and high-quality chemical by-product streams, targeting nitrogen 21% minimum, sulfur around 24%, moisture 0.5% maximum, a 2–4 mm size, high particle strength, low dust and low impurities — for high-quality agricultural fertilizer markets. Standard Granular draws on caprolactam, chemical by-product, selected coke-oven by-product and some new-energy by-product streams, targeting nitrogen 21% minimum, sulfur 23–24% minimum, moisture 0.5–1% maximum and at least 90% within the target size — for bulk international trade. Economic Grade is typically coke-oven by-product, with nitrogen around 20.5–21%, possibly darker colour, relatively higher impurities and a lower price — for price-sensitive markets. Grade, colour and quality requirements are confirmed with you before order, and are essential to settle in advance for the Economic Grade.
